The new Marvel Land Avengers Campus opened this June at Disney’s California Adventure. Finally, there is a home for all our favorite MCU characters at the Disneyland resort! Here is everything to expect after the phase one opening of the new immersive MCU-inspired area. Including where to eat, what to ride and the best gear to buy.

What is Avengers Campus?
Avengers Campus is the new place for tomorrow’s superheroes to begin their training as Avengers recruits. As one of three planned Marvel-themed lands worldwide, Avengers Campus, Anaheim is the newest themed land at Disney’s California Adventure. Disney plans to operate the area in coordination with the Marvel themed lands at Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland, but it’s still not clear how the three lands will interconnect. These MCU-inspired lands form part of a parallel multiverse dimension known as the Marvel Theme Park Universe (MTPU).
Backstory
In this universe, the “blip” in Avengers Infinity War never happened. Stark Industries developed the site in Disney’s California Adventure in association with the Strategic Scientific Reserve. The Campus also happens to be built on an ancient Sanctum, which Doctor Strange has generously come to investigate.
Within the campus, there are a handful of supply shops and eateries. The relatively small area occupies the space formerly held by Flik’s Fun Fair and It’s Tough to Be a Bug. It connects to Hollywood land in the back near the Guardians of the Galaxy ride Mission: Breakout. Many superheroes appear around and above Avengers Campus. All of the former attractions from the area were removed. Only Flik’s Flyers survived, although it was rethemed and moved to Pixar Pier as the Emotional Whirlwind.
What Can You Do At Avengers Campus?
Attractions
Currently, there are two attractions at Avengers Campus. The first is Mission Breakout, which opened in 2017. The all-new Spider-man attraction Web Slingers: a Spider-man Adventure features a combination of video gameplay and ride-through technology that lets guests gesture at interactive screens to sling webs at out-of-control Spider bots. The attraction requires no gear in order to sling your webs. However, you can purchase gear at the supply shop and customize your ride experience with a variety of themed Spider-Man web slingers. It’s important to know you can only ride Web Slingers by joining the virtual que. It opens at 7am and 1pm PST and quickly fills. Also be aware, the Campus has a limited occupancy so you may have to join a virtual que to visit if you are not riding.
The upcoming phase 2 promises an Avengers Quinjet adventure. But for now, Disney uses the building for outdoor entertainment. Marvel characters frequently perform stunts in the buildings around the campus.

Characters
Characters are always subject to change at the Disney parks and Avengers Campus is no exception. However, the most common characters you’ll find in this area are Spider-man, Black Widow, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Black Panther.
Doctor Strange teaches mystic arts in the Ancient Sanctum where new recruits may have to battle with the forces of darkness before the lesson ends. Spider-man swings over the rooftops of the W.E.B. (Worldwide Engineering Brigade) building. Other character encounters happen regularly throughout the campus including a Guardians of the Galaxy dance-off.

Dining
There are several carts/kiosks around the Avengers Campus area including Terran Treats next to the Collector’s Fortress, and Shawarma Palace, which is in two locations. However, the big draw is Pym’s Test Kitchen. They’re still working on the recipes here, and part of that experimentation includes using Pym particles to make small foods bigger. Next to the test kitchen is Pym’s Lab where mixology is the science of the day.

Merchandise
Avengers Campus is the place to go for Avengers-themed merchandise, including your own pet spider bot and web-slinging enhancement gear for when you ride Web Slingers for the 28th time.
