We love the great value and easy of onsite resorts but are they all created equal? You will find for the price you pay, you also get many benefits. Various perks include free MagicBand, early Fastpass reservations, extended hours at select theme parks daily, Magical Express and the ability to purchase a dining plan! What we love about staying in an official Disney resort are price tiers to fit within every budget.
Value resorts offer the key benefits of staying at a Disney hotel including a room on Disney property however they have a lower price tag. They include Disney guest services, and other advantages. Disney value resorts also offer fun icon shaped pools as well as convenient and inexpensive dining options. All standard (or preferred location rooms) sleep 4, plus a child under age 3 and the family suites sleep 6 plus a child under age 3. At Instant Impressions Travel Services, your travel concierge specializes in finding the ideal accommodations for your Disney trip. Here is an overview of the Disney value resorts at Walt Disney World, why we love them and what makes them different from each other.
Disney’s All-Stars
The Disney All-Stars, the original value resorts, are the most affordable basic option of all the Disney value resorts. However, they do theme in a big way. There are three All-Star hotels: All-Star Sports, All-Star Music, and All-Star Movies. Overall, the room size, layout and amenities are the same. Look for oversized set pieces that illustrate which theme you chose. All-Star Sports has Large footballs, basketballs, tennis rackets, etc. and Disney characters, all over which is a touch that the more expensive resorts miss. It is worth noting All Star Movies was refurbished in 2019. All Star Music is in the process of being refurbished in 2020. Upon Music’s completion All Star Sports will begin refurbishment.
We love the prominent Disney overtones of the All-Star resorts. At All-Star Movies we absolutely love the food court, and at All-Star Music we love the added space of the family suites. The All-Star Resorts are all together and it’s easy to roam around all three. Their conveniently located near Disney’s Animal Kingdom park and they share bus access to the rest of Walt Disney World. One word of caution….you will frequently find yourself vacationing with several High School Groups. We love working with these performance groups but sometimes to arrive at the Magic Kingdom bus stop and find you are person 400 in line (since they travel in large groups) can be shocking if you weren’t prepared.
Disney’s Pop Century
Pop Century is a tribute to the second half of the 20th Century. Each decade is represented by iconic jumbo set pieces such as Playdough, a JukeBox, a Big Wheel, and a Walkman to just name a few. Inside is pop art that features Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters. Outside, the most memorable items through the decades bring out the theming and our nostalgia. The Disney Characters are part of the artistic design of this resort as well. Pop Century is located near the ESPN Wide World of Sports and has a Disney Skyliner station that glides over the trees to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. This was the first of the value resorts to be renovated to include queen beds! We love this new look and all the additional floorspace.
Disney’s The Art of Animation
Finally, Disney’s Art of Animation, which is the top tier of value resorts. There are plenty of family suites at this resort which is three fourths indoor room entry. There are 4 sections….3 which feature suites: The Lion King, Cars, and Finding Nemo. The fourth section is all standard rooms with a Little Mermaid theme. These rooms are being refurbished in the Spring of 2020. The theming is most immersive at The Art of Animation among all Disney value resorts and the family suites in the Cars and Finding Nemo buildings are especially great. Disney’s Art of Animation replaced what originally was going to be the Classic side of the Pop Century Resort, hence the Generation Gap bridge. Two things we love about this resort is the excellent food court Landscapes of Flavor and the Skyliner access.
